Due to enhanced COVID safety protocols at DPC, the Bible study group has decided to hit “pause” on our Bible study until we will be able to meet in-person again. This means that we will resume our Bible study on February 20. It will be in the conference room at 11 AM. We will look at some of the historical context of the book of Genesis, as well as different genres of writing that appear in the book. Understanding these things will help us to understand the book moving forward.
The churches of Family Promise are cautiously hopeful that we’ll be able to return to hosting families in the church rotation schedule this spring.
Meanwhile, we continue to share responsibility for providing meals for the three families we have in apartments supported by Family Promise. DPC’s meal week is the week of January 30.
Jane will be sending out instructions in the next couple of weeks so if you would like to help, get in touch with Jane.
We’re looking for people to make a freezer main meal, salad fixings, bring milk, or make a dessert. You can contact Jane Lurvey at email@example.com.
DPC’s Annual Congregational Meeting is scheduled for Sunday, February 6, 2022, immediately following the church service. Due to high COVID infection rates, we will forego our normal luncheon, and instead stay together in the sanctuary for a short update and time for questions and answers. If you are unable to attend on the 6th or are not comfortable joining us in-person, but would still like to receive an annual report, please contact Pastor Nikki at PastorNikkiDPC@gmail.com
Our Little Dresses sewing group has been busy making pillowcases for distribution to children in local hospitals. Recently we delivered 35 of the pillowcases as well as four fleece security blankets which we just began making. Earlier this year we shipped 38 dresses and 24 sani-pads for distribution in Africa.
Contact Betty Tills if you are interested in helping with our mission. No sewing required.
On Friday, December 24, at 5 PM, Delafield Presbyterian Church will host our Christmas Eve service.
It will be a service with the singing of a lot of Christmas carols and retelling the story of Jesus’ birth. Please join us!
On Sunday, December 19, we will have a presentation from our Sunday school class about the birth of Jesus. Since we don’t have children on site yet, they will illustrate the story of Jesus’ birth for us!
DPC’s joint handbell choir is scheduled to perform twice during the month of December! On December 12, they will share some Advent/Christmas songs at Delafield Presbyterian Church and on December 19, they will be at Kettle Moraine United Presbyterian Church.
Please join us if you can!
