It’s that time of year when the reindeer fly into Delafield and the candy canes fly into children’s hands!

Delafield Presbyterian Church will have a table at the Fish Hatchery where we will have games and prizes for the children, and information for the community about our wonderful church.

Be sure to come visit us, play a game, get a prize, and see what’s happening at Delafield Presbyterian Church.

Knoll Crest Kids – Christmas Giving Tree – Starting November 25th

It was back to school time for children at Knoll Crest  in downtown Delafield. Knoll Crest is low income housing for families and adults. Seven children were showered with school supplies, backpacks and $25.00 gift cards to buy something special to start the school year. We had over 20 people helping make this project happen. The families were more than grateful for the help.

We are doing a Christmas “Giving Tree” for our Knoll Crest kids this year. The tree will be ready November 25th.

Plowshare Fair Trade Marketplace & Education for Peace – Sunday October 21st

On Sunday, October 21st, The Plowshare Market in Waukesha will visit Delafield Presbyterian Church! They will teach a lesson to our congregation and to our Sunday school class about what Fair Trade items are and why it’s important to buy them!

After the service, Plowshare will host a fair trade market, where you will have a chance to purchase fairly traded items! You’ll find anything from coffee to jewelry, to children’s toys to home décor! Also for sale will be Gifts for the Journey soaps and lotions. These products are produced by the women of the Clare Center in Milwaukee, a home for women escaping human trafficking. All proceeds of their sales support the Clare Center.

So come to church with some cash and prepared to get a start on your holiday shopping!

Teen Discussion – Sunday, October 14th

Our next Teen Discussion will be on Sunday, October 14th.

We will be vising the Sri Sathya Sai Baba Center of Milwaukee and discussing the Hindu religion.

The service starts at 2:30 pm. Dinner around 5:30 pm (Indian food…all of it is vegetarian) is usually served after the service; we will be staying for this as well.

This outing is open to the congregation; we will be leaving the Delafield Presbyterian Church parking lot around 1:45 pm and returning around 6:00 pm.

We hope you are able to join us.

Little Dresses – Wednesday, October 17th – 12-4:00 pm

Little Dresses next meeting Wednesday, October 17th. It’s time to get together and make little girls in Africa feel special again!

We now have patterns for four different styles of little dresses and lots of fabric to make them.  We always need help from those who sew and those who prefer to iron, cut fabric or perform any other of our non-sewing needs.  We also assemble kits of the materials needed for a dress.   Some of our members prefer to sew at home using these kits.

We will meet the third Wednesday of the month from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm in our conference room.  Come for an hour or the entire time.   All are welcome; sewing skills not required.

Upcoming meeting dates for the remainder of 2018 are Wednesdays, September 19th, October 17th, November 21st and December 19th.
