Our Little Dresses group has enjoyed six productive years of sewing for the national Little Dresses for Africa organization, Open Arms Orphanage in South Africa and Guatemala Service Projects Inc.  We’ve made over 400 dresses, 50 pajamas, 50 totes, 50 backpacks, headscarves and fleece hats and other items.

Join us to sew, cut, press and enjoy fellowship at our meetings the third Wednesday of the month on Sept.18, Oct.16, Nov. 20 and Dec.18 from 12-4 in our conference room.  Come help us put smiles on little girls’ faces!   Sewing skills are not necessary.

Family Promise’s Fifth Birthday! In early November 2014, Family Promise of Waukesha County opened its doors to our first guest family.  We have been operating 24/7 ever since that cold November morning and our fifth birthday is fast approaching!  By the time November rolls around, we’ll have taken in over 100 local homeless families with children.  Fifty families will have been placed in their own fully furnished apartment and more than ninety percent of our placed families will have been able to keep their homes.  This great success is due to our incredible volunteers, donors, and employees who have contributed thousands upon thousands of meals, hours, and donations of cash, supplies and furniture. Anyone interested in celebrating with us or wanting to learn more about the program is welcome to stop by.  There will be tasty refreshments, lively conversation and several information stations summarizing where we’ve been, how we got there and where we’re going.

 

Don’t miss our annual Lake Country Craft Fair.
Saturday, September 14th starting at 9am at the church.

Everyone is invited to come and begin Christmas shopping early! We will have lots of exhibitors with lots of neat items on display.

Bakery will be for sale along with chili, coffee and water.

We’re not taking the summer off this year!

Little Dresses will meet monthly this summer on Wednesdays June 19th, July 17th, and August 21st from 12:00 – 4:00 pm in the conference room.

We will be sewing dresses, cancer scarves and winter hats.  Your help is welcome for a variety of sewing and non-sewing jobs.

We will be “Grillin’ n Chillin'” for a great cause – our Local Food Pantries.

There will be Food, Music and Games for all.
