The Delafield Presbyterian Church (DPC) congregants are showing their gratitude for Delafield police, firefighters, and paramedics by sharing a “high five” with local first responders.
Banners are available now through Thursday, September 22 in the entrance to the Delafield City Hall and Library for individuals to sign, write a personal note, or even trace their hand as a sign of appreciation for the dedicated service and kindnesses shown daily by these men and women.
The High Five for First Responders Luncheon is scheduled for September 23, at the Delafield Public Safety Building, 111 Main St in Delafield. Banners will be on display during this all-day luncheon buffet provided by DPC for first responders and their families. This buffet is a continuation of the 150th anniversary year with “150 Acts of Kindness”.
All three shifts of 1st responders and their families as well as members of the City Council are invited to the luncheon starting at 11 a.m. and ending after a short ceremony at 6 p.m. in the equipment bay of the Public Safety Building. During the ceremony, the Boy Scouts of Troop #49 will present flags to the Delafield Police and Fire Departments; the Legion Post Honor Guard will post the colors in accordance with official flag handling etiquette.
A special thank you to our community participation in the form of donations for the luncheon that includes brats from Fox Brothers Piggly Wiggly, pulled pork from Sloppy Joe’s Pub in Hubertus, additional food items from Sentry located at Hwy 83, ice from the BP Delafield Convenience Store, and two American flags donated by Pagenkopf Funeral Home, Oconomowoc.
We hope to see you there!
